David 'Dave' Correa, 70

David "Dave" Correa, 70, passed away in his home near Sandpoint, Idaho, on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2006.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jack Jones will officiate.

Friends may call at Coffelt Funeral Service on Wednesday from noon until 6 p.m. and on Thursday until service time.

Dave was born in New York City, N.Y., on Aug. 23, 1936, graduating from high school in 1954. He studied music in New York prior to moving to California. On Feb. 5, 1961 he married Hilda Gonzales in San Gabriel, Calif.

He worked for Montgomery Ward, in California, for 20 years as a warehouse manager.

In 1991 he moved to Sandpoint and went to work for the Bonner County School District. He drove school bus, in the Priest River area, until retirement in 1999.

He enjoyed camping with his family, and friends. "Helping others," especially the children, was very important to Dave. He was a member of the Historic Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is survived by three children, Elisa (and Steve) Marshall of Porterville, Calif., David (and Debbie) Correa of Grove, Okla., and Alicia (and Daniel) Stiefel of Sandpoint; six grandchildren, Kristopher, Kamron, Jake, Madison, Daniel David and Monet; three brothers, William Correa of Anaheim, Calif., Charles Correa of Temple City, Calif., and Adam Correa of Victorville, Calif.; and a sister, Ada Davis of Sandpoint.

His parents, his wife, and four brothers, Nelson, Peter, Frankie, Radame, preceded him in death.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
