Bulldogs win fourth straight in routing Bears

| October 13, 2006 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — The Bulldogs have enjoyed the friendly confines of Barlow Stadium at War Memorial Field, hammering Moscow 51-14 Friday night for their fourth straight convincing home win.

Once again, the Bulldogs (4-4) were solid in all phases of the game. Ryan Armbruster had a stellar night at quarterback, completing 9-15, for 167 yards and a touchdown. He also scored on a one yard keeper for his second touchdown.

The Bulldogs ground out a methodical 247 yards on the ground, with Kurt Stoll and Dan Hanson doing the bulk of the damage. Stoll finished with 105 yards and Hanson 75 as they ran behind the mauling blocks of Riley Flanigan, Bryan Buck, Austin Jones, Jimmy Byers and kenneth Abey, who have become a strength of the team at offensive line.

The defense continues to shut teams down, holding Moscow to 200 total yards and two late touchdowns with the game out of reach. Will Andrews scored a touchdown when he recovered an errant Moscow punt snap in the end zone.

Nate Rench added another fumble recovery for the final touchdown, falling on a Dan Hanson fumble in the end zone.

The Bulldogs play the biggest game of the season next Friday at Lakeland, to determine who goes to the state playoffs.
