Bulldogs, Cats host Districts today

| October 20, 2006 9:00 PM

Sandpoint will be looking to secure a state berth today when they host the 4A District 1 volleyball tournament at Les Rogers Court.

Lakeland and Moscow both lost once on Thursday, and will play the first game of the double elimination tournament at 11 a.m. The winner of that match will face the Bulldogs, who beat Moscow in four games on Thursday, starting at 12:30 p.m.

Should the Bulldogs win that game, they would secure the lone state berth. If they lose, there will be a replay of the game at 2 p.m., with the winner of that game advancing to the state tournament on Oct. 27-28 at Kimberly High School.

Clark Fork will be looking to capture one of the two state berths available as they host the 1A District 1 volleyball championships today at Clark Fork High School.

The first game, pitting Wallace (#1 seed) and Kootenai (#4), begins at 10 a.m. Clark Fork (#3) and Coeur d'Alene Charter (#2) play at 11 a.m. in the second game.

The tournament is true double elimination, and the succeeding matches will run every hour beginning at 12:15 p.m., with the championship game scheduled to start at 3:15 p.m.
