HJR 2 will hurt Idaho's families
Why to vote no on HJR 2 on Nov. 7
1. HJR 2 changes Idaho's constitution. It is one of the most extreme "marriage amendments" proposed anywhere in the nation.
2. HJR 2 hurts Idaho families. It not only re-defines marriage but even bans civil unions, domestic partnerships and similar legal protections for all unmarried couples in Idaho.
3. HJR 2 is out of touch with Idaho and with our nation. Even when they oppose same gender marriage, a majority of Americans, including President Bush and U.S. Sen. Craig, support civil unions because they offer a fair way for same-gender couples to access hundreds of family legal protections that come with marriage, i.e. hospital visitation, medical decision making, spousal inheritance, etc.
Please vote no on HJR 2.
