Jesse Raymond 'Ray' Cole, 96

Jesse Raymond "Ray" Cole, 96, passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, in Kootenai, Idaho.

Interment services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.

Ray was born on Oct. 10, 1910, in Albany, Ill., the son of James O. and Cora B. (McClellan) Cole.

He went to high school at Arsnal Technical High School, in Indianapolis, Ind. He also attended Indiana Business College for accounting studies.

Ray married Helen Simmers Beach on April 7, 1930, in Ft. Wayne, Ind. He worked as an office manager for a canning company for three years; had a general store in a small farming community in Indiana; worked for the federal government for 24 1/2 years and retired from there at the White Sands Missel Range.

He honorable served his country from Oct. 10, 1942 to Nov. 5, 1945, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.

Ray enjoyed traveling and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and his wife Helen in 1998.
