Miller scores four touchdowns as Cats throttle Mullan
CLARK FORK — Having their pride stung a little in their season opening loss to Kootenai, Clark Fork bounced back big, throttling Mullan 38-14 Friday night in Clark Fork.
Ryan Miller did everything except sell programs, rushing for 186 yards on 19 carries and returning a punt 65 yards for one of his four touchdowns. Beezer Ruen also had a seven yard touchdown run.
"He stepped up and ran real hard," said coach Brian Arthun. "The line wore them down up front; just kept pounding away."
Arthun also praised the play of sophomore defensive end Jake Jeffres, who made his first varsity start a memorable one, tallying 10 tackles and two quarterback sacks. Arthun said it wasn't hard to motivate his team after last week.
"We came out flat last week," he said. "The guys up here have pride, they wanted to come out and be intense."
Clark Fork hosts Inchelium next Friday.
