Nola E. Kohler, 88, passed away in Aberdeen, Wash., on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.

The vigil rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept 8, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, in St.Joseph's Catholic Church. Father Dennis C. Day will officiate with interment to follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Friends may call at Coffelt Funeral Service on Friday from noon until 7 p.m.

Nola was born in Flaxville, Mont., on Dec. 7, 1917, where she attended local schools.

On Sept. 23, 1935, she married Thomas Kohler in Scobey, Mont. In 1937 she moved to the Selle area of Sandpoint, helping take care of the family farm and dairy operation. She later moved to Sandpoint.

Nola worked as a driver's license deputy, for the Bonner County Sheriff's Office from July 1965 until October 1987.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She enjoyed her garden, her flowers and baking cinnamon rolls for her friends in the community. She liked to sew, crochet, and listen to the music of the "big band" era.

She is survived by four children, Sharon Green of Aberdeen, Wash., Ted Kohler of Napa Vine, Wash., Ron Kohler of Aberdeen and Harvey Kohler of Riverton, Wyo.; and 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Her parents, her husband Tom, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
