Philip Charles 'Phil' Slocum, 69

Philip Charles "Phil" Slocum, 69, passed away on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at his home in Sagle, Idaho.

A private Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006.

Philip was born on Sept. 7, 1936, in Hollywood, Calif., to Herrick and Evangeline Slocum.

He attended Hollywood High School and graduated from UCLA with a bachelor of arts degree in geology.

He was an Los Angeles County Venice Beach lifeguard, a boat builder for ocean racing catamarans, and a custom home builder.

Philip and his family moved to Idaho in 1989, where he retired and pursued his hobbies of boat building, sailing, building furniture, and horseback riding.

He his survived by his wife of 45 years, Sally Slocum of Sagle; a daughter, Jil (Allan) Cramer of Sandpoint, Idaho; a son, Andrew Slocum of Sandpoint; a sister, Carole (Merrill) Ruge of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and six grandsons, Sheldon, Tyler, Joel, Trystn, Alan and Jacob.

Memorial donations may be made to Bonner Community Hospice, PO Box 1448, Sandpoint, ID 83864.
