Standing ovation for Panida's suppliers

| September 13, 2006 9:00 PM

This year the Panida Theater exceeded its expected profits from providing ice cream cones and sundaes at The Festival at Sandpoint. With a team of 44 volunteers, many who worked multiple concerts, it proved a heroic effort to keep up with demand, as festival attendance was larger this year.

I had excellent, happy crews each concert and I am very grateful for their dedication to the Panida Theater. Our profit from this, our largest fundraiser each year, supports our operating budget.

I expressly want to thank the many vendors who work with me each year and make managing this project such a delight.

Dan Burt of Emerald Distributing (Darigold), who goes out of his way for us each year, proving that delicious ice cream, especially the Huckleberry Heaven; Jeri Fielder, Huckleberry Magic in Priest Lake, who provides the rich, exciting huckleberry topping;

Patty Howell, Insight Distributing, for cups, bowls, and other products for the theater throughout the year; Michael Boge, who provides a variety of supplies, even at the last minute.

Also thanks to Belwood's Furniture, for providing our large storage freezer free of charge each year. This enables us to keep enough ice cream on the field to meet demand without outside runners. Also, thanks to Emerald Distributing for the one of one of its chest freezers, and Selkirk Press for generously donating order pads.

I also wish to thank my personal support team I rely on each year who work tirelessly each concert and who remind me of any details I may have overlooked, Jody Shapiro and Jimmy Magnabosco. I so appreciate their behind-the-scenes effort each year and willingness to jump and run as we near opening night.

Thanks to all of you. Your efforts on behalf of the Panida Theater are so appreciated. We could not achieve the success we do each year without you.
