Lake City defeats Sandpoint

| September 15, 2006 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE — Sandpoint answered Lake City's opening drive with a scoring drive of their own.

What the Bulldogs (0-4) didn't have was an answer for what happened next. The No. 1 ranked Timberwolves (4-0) scored six straight touchdowns to win Friday night's Lake City homecoming 49-31 in front of an estimated 2,500 fans.

"Lake City's a good football team. If I were a college coach around here, I would be seriously recruiting their quarterback (Garren hammons)," Sandpoint coach Mike Mitchell said. "I don't think we're a bad football team, we've shown we can play, we just aren't doing for an entire game."
