POST FALLS — Junior Brooke DeMers provided an inspirational boost to the Bulldogs, tallying seven kills, five aces and two blocks as Sandpoint beat Post Falls 25-22, 24-26, 25-17 and 25-13 Tuesday night in IEL action at Post Falls.

"Brooke stole the show tonight," said Bulldogs' coach Karen Alsager. "She was very enthusiastic, got an adrenaline run going and it fueled her; she was amazing."

Freshman Piper Wahlen led the Bulldogs (3-3, 3-2) with nine kills, and fellow frosh Kortney James added 17 set assists. Savanna Lester, as she seems to do every time she takes the floor, led the team with 23 digs and Abby Helander added 12.

Alsager singled out the play of Alissa Tenuto and Colleen Koopal, who added five and four kills respectively. The duo is part of a deep bench that is capable of sparking the team at any given time.

"Our secondary players that haven't had the opportunity took it," said Alsager, noting what a luxury it is to have skilled depth. "They took the opportunity and ran with it."

Sandpoint hosts Lakeland on Thursday, looking to make it three wins in a row.

Katie Watson and Piper Wahlen each tallied 11 kills, and Savanna Lester and Abby Helander both had 26 digs as the Bulldogs (2-3, 2-2) found a way to win.
