EAST BONNER COUNTY FREE LIBRARY DISTRICT

Bonner County, Idaho

The Board of Trustees of the East Bonner County Free Library District hereby invites eligible candidates to apply for a single position on the library district board as described below.

Trustees serve on a five-person board, that generally meets on the second Monday of each month, and on one or more standing committees. Duties include approval and adoption of library policies, an annual budget and monthly expenditures; defining services; setting library hours; appointment of a library director; and the application of district resources to meet community needs and library standards.

A strong commitment to community and to providing high quality public library service is desirable in a candidate. This person must be a qualified and registered elector [within the meaning of section 2, article VI, Idaho Constitution], a resident of the library district for no less than thirty (30) days prior to his or her appointment, and at least 18 years of age.

An appointee will serve until the next annual board meeting on June 11, 2007, and may choose to stand for election, Tuesday, May 22, 2007, to complete the remaining two (2) years of this unexpired term, or to fill any other position on the board that may be open.

Applicants will be interviewed at a special board meeting on Tuesday, October 3 or at a regular board meeting on Tuesday, October 10.
