Byway story lacked facts
Since there doesn't seem to be an interest in reporting an accurate story, let me correct a few "facts" in R.J. Cohn's Sand Creek Byway easement story published on Sept. 22.
The six parking spaces will not be used for storage or even construction. They will be open and accessible the entire time. The area the Idaho Transportation Department needs is the part underwater where they are going to dredge.
The material will not be stockpiled for three months. It will be dredged, allowed to drain and hauled away. The area for that is behind the Panida Theater on Farmin Trust property and that is an arrangement between ITD and Farmin. The city has no business involving itself in those private affairs.
Councilman Steve Lockwood's failure to get answers had more to do with his lack of understanding than ITD trying to hide information
The work will be done in the fall of 2007
Had the City Council accepted the offer I negotiated in the first place, the city would have received over $3,700, but by making ITD redo and redo this we ended up with $1,550.
