Paul Harry Blood, 96, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2007, near Blanchard, Idaho.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2007, in the Edgemere Seventh-day Adventist Church in Edgemere, Idaho. Pastor Eddie Card and Pastor Lennie Atkins will officiate.

Paul was born on Dec. 25, 1910, in Westhope, N.D., the son of George and Emma Blood.

The family moved to the Hoodoo Valley area in 1917 and Paul attended the Edgemere School.

He married Verna Payette on Sept. 12, 1934, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and they were married for 63 years.

For many years he worked as an independent logger and operated a small farm in Edgemere.

In later years he continued working by providing firewood for his family and those in need.

Paul enjoyed his family, his garden and sharing a good joke with family and friends. He was a longtime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Edgemere.

He is survived by three children, Leuis and Clarence Blood both of Priest River; and Letha Merklin of Creston, British Columbia, Canada. 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. His wife Verna; four brothers; and four sisters preceded him in death.
