Bulldogs finish sixth at golf tourney

HAYDEN LAKE — The seventh annual Coeur d'Alene girls golf invitational at Hayden Lake Country Club wound up eerily similar to the sixth annual event.

The host Vikings won the tourney for the second straight year, and Post Falls sophomore Genna Dodge repeated as medalist.

Bonnie Snow led the Bulldogs with a 95 as they finished sixth overall.

? Hess leads Clark Fork golfers

BIG CREEK — Wallace seniors Dustin Christensen and Cara Hayman won medalist honors during the Wallace Invite Golf Match on Wednesday at Shoshone Golf Course in Big Creek.

Christensen shot a 38 to lead the pack on the boys side, while Hayman shot a 46 to pace the girls grouping on Wednesday, which also included 1A schools Orofino, Clark Fork and Mullan.

Brian Baugh led the Clark Fork boys with a 58 and Megan Hess shot a 61 to lead the girls as they were unable to place full teams and score.

? Sandpoint tennis team downs Post Falls 10-2 (late)

POST FALLS — Sandpoint swept the boys singles, boys doubles and mixed doubles en route to a 10-2 win over Post Falls in tennis action on Tuesday.

Sandpoint coach Jane Rockwell juggled the lineup a bit, getting some singles players into doubles action and vice versa. She was particularly pleased with the play of Piper Wahlin at No. 2 girls singles, and Ryan Williams and Jess Lindenberg in No. 1 mixed doubles.

"Ryan said it was an important victory for the morale of the whole team," said Rockwell of the mixed doubles win. "Coming out of spring break, it was nice to have the whole team pull through.

Sandpoint will scrimmage with Clark Fork today.
