Lucille Kathryn Walker, 83, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Tuesday, April 10, 2007.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 621 Oak St., in Sandpoint, Idaho. Father Dennis C. Day will officiate.

Lucille was born March 17, 1924, on St. Patrick's Day to Milo and Mildred (Tiearney) Tanger in Los Angeles, Calif.

She graduated from Leuzinger High School and Married Alva Drennan Walker on Dec. 14, 1941. They lived in Hawthorne, Calif., where they adopted three girls that she loved so very much.

They moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, after Alva retired in 1978. Lucille was very involved in the Catholic Church and volunteered for many tasks involving the food bank, Sagle thrift store and the church. She loved St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Father Day, who took such good care of her needs.

Lucille was very generous with her love and time to so many people and children. She took great joy in her family and never forgot a birthday or special occasion. Lucille was very thoughtful she always put two dollar bills in her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's cards. Lucille took great care of her husband Alva, never tiring from her loving task of spending time together until the end of her life.

She was famous for her fried chicken and blackberry jam.

We can never replace our mom, but we will carry her in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her husband Alva D. Walker, her daughters; Susan Visco, Bernice Martello and Drenna Walker, her sisters; Margie Hocken Berry and FerBa Weitzel of California, 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special friends.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Life Care Center, the doctors in Sandpoint that cared for her and the Cancer Institution of Coeur d'Alene.
