Coalition should not try to play God with wolves

| April 21, 2007 9:00 PM

This is in regards to the March 15 article "Coalition kicks off drive to remove wolves from Idaho." Who do these people think they are playing, God?

We, as humans, being an intricate part of the whole ecosystem, have no right in deciding who stays and who goes. As a race, we have failed miserable in managing wildlife, land and even whole races, i.e. Native Americans.

We in our self-righteous mindset have brought to extinction or near extinction a host of animals as well as humans in the name of progress or so-called progress. There are way too many examples of this conceited behavior to list.

Is this not the same behavior and mindset that Hitler had toward the Jewish people or even Saddam Hussein had toward the Kurds? They tried to decide who stays and who goes.

Wolves, like other creatures of the woods, have been managing themselves for thousands of years without our help and have been very successful in doing so. Only when self-centered, self-righteous people intervene has the whole balance been disrupted, even to the point of oblivion.
