Bulldog golfers fifth at Lakeland Invite

| April 25, 2007 9:00 PM

TWIN LAKES — Dan Sommerfield led the Bulldogs with a 79 at the 13-team Lakeland Invitational on Wednesday at Twin Lakes Village Golf Club. It was a solid score considering the deceptive nature of Twin Lakes, which can be tough when playing it for the first time.

"I thought we did fairly well considering no one had ever played it before," said coach Mike Keough. "It can be an easy course if you know it, but there's a lot of hidden water and we found some."

Wyatt Pearson shot an 81, and Nicholas Hawkins a 90 as Sandpoint finished fifth as a team. They play at Coeur d'Alene on Wednesday.
