Elizabeth 'Betty' Hornby, 80

Elizabeth "Betty" Hornby, 80, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Monday, April 23, 2007.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday, April 27, 2007, from noon until 6 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service, 109 N. Division Ave., in Sandpoint.

Funeral services, at First Lutheran Church, will be announced later.

Betty was born in Warren, Ohio, on July 25, 1926.

The family moved to Rapid City, S.D., where she graduated from high school in 1944.

She attended college in Sioux Falls, S.D., and married Harry Hornby on Aug. 7, 1946, in Rapid City, S.D. While in Rapid City she worked, as a secretary, for the school district.

In 1984 she moved to the Vay/Edgemere area and retired, later moving to Sandpoint in 2001. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and was active in the work of the church. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, baking cookies for family and friends, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

She is survived by her husband Harry Hornby of Sandpoint, Idaho; three children, Ben Hornby of Priest River, Idaho, Dan Hornby of Priest River, Idaho and Tom Hornby of Sandpoint, Idaho; five grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
