Comp plan needs your fingerprints

What has changed in Sandpoint since 1977?

The more accurate question should be what hasn't changed here in 30 years.

Sandpoint's comprehensive plan was developed in 1987, when timber was king, and a person could buy a nice house for under $80,000.

A comprehensive plan is a suggested blue print and a road map for a community. Most address needs such as transportation, affordable housing, public services and the community's flavor.

On Thursday, the steering committee for Sandpoint's new comprehensive plan will meet for the second time. During the committee's first meeting, 70 people showed up to discuss the future.

If you want to have any input into Sandpoint's future, you are urged to attend this Thursday's meeting. It starts at 6 p.m. at the Community Hall.

As the old saying goes: Speak now or forever hold your peace.
