Betty Louise Allen Johnson

Betty Louise Allen Johnson passed away at her home on Saturday, April 28, 2007, in Kootenai, Idaho.

A potluck memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the home of Stan and Cheryl Allen in Hope. For directions, call 264-5545.

Betty was born on June 18, 1943, in Gordon, Neb., the daughter of Joe and Vivian Allen.

She lived in Nebraska until the age of 2. She then moved to Clark Fork and Hope, where she attended Hope Elementary until eighth grade. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1962.

She married David R. Johnson on Nov. 21, 1964, in Couer d'Alene, Idaho.

She worked for the Eagles and Kootenai School while her children were young. In later years, she worked for Litehouse.

Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with family and friends. Most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, John and Angie Johnson of Sandpoint; Emelie Henley of Kootenai; and Bryan and Lynn Johnson of Stanwood, Wash.; her father, Joe Allen of Hope; two brothers, Stan (Cheryl) Allen and Steve (Caroline), all of Hope; two sisters, Bonnie Lacey of Sandpoint and Bev Mitton of Ponderay; her grandchildren, Seth, Vanessa, Heather, Chelsea, Crystal, Cyril and Chantelle. She was preceded in death by her husband, David; her mother, Vivian, and sisters Caroline and Donna.
