Community's generosity made project possible

| August 1, 2007 9:00 PM

This is to express our gratitude to all in the community who helped make Pay It Forward for Panhandle Special Needs such a wonderful success. From the smallest of donations to the largest, all were so very much appreciated and it proved, once again, our town responds when called upon to help.

The old building that houses Panhandle Special Needs, Inc., on Boyer Avenue received an amazing uplift from Sullivan Homes and the Extreme Team from KXLY, that in a matter of three days, transformed the old kitchen, two restrooms, entryway, accounting office and reception area into a warm, inviting atmosphere for our disabled friends.

Now, we must move on to "phase two" to modernize and update two other areas of the building. The big room, where all the life skills training takes place, and the work services area that must be enlarged to accommodate the clients that receive training in job skills by doing subcontract work for businesses in the community. So, Pay it Forward will continue until we accomplish the rest of the job. We will still be seeking grants and donations to see this old building made more efficient and inviting for all who spend their days there, a very important part of the lives of those with disabilities.

So, here's a huge thanks to all of you who reached out and contributed to this very important project, our gratitude is unlimited.
