Jacqueline Ann "Jackie" (Boyd) Hadley, 57, passed away at her home in Athol, Idaho on Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint with the Rev. Dr. Nancy Copeland-Payton of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Jackie was born on May 31, 1950, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Harold and Lillian Boyd. She graduated high school in Sioux Falls and went on to receive her bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Colorado.

She moved to North Idaho in the late 1970s and worked in the restaurant business in Coeur d'Alene.

She then received her teaching certificate from the University of Idaho and taught high school and junior high in the Lakeland School District.

In 1988 she went to work for Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort, where she gave the morning ski report on the phone line and the local radio stations. She also worked as a lift operator and on the ski patrol.

In the summers she worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Avery, Idaho on the trail crew.

Jackie married Scott Hadley on June 23, 1990 in Athol, Idaho. The couple worked together building cabinets and homes.

She is a past member and officer of the Hidden Lakes Ladies Club, a member of the Northwest Wood Turners Club, and a member of the North Idaho Wood Workers Guild.

Jackie enjoyed skiing, golfing, wood turning, traveling, biking, and the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Hadley of Athol; two stepsons, Brian (Sollee) Hadley of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Randy (Kelli) Hadley of Post Falls, Idaho; four grandchildren, Christian, Asher, Ivy, and Amelia; two brothers, Jim (Jo) Boyd of Orlando, Fla., and Bob Boyd of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and her mother-in-law, Jean Hadley of Sandpoint, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and father-in-law Duane Hadley.
