Staff, volunteers making community event possible

| August 20, 2007 9:00 PM

Have you put on a family party this summer? I have and it's a lot of work. My family kicked in and got us through it. It was a blast and I appreciate their help as many hands make light work.

The party of all parties will be held at the Bonner County Fairgrounds this week. The county staff, the fair board, the few employees and the volunteers are working hard, day and night, to take care of thousands of details while problem-solving and keeping things organized and under control.

As a former 4-Her, then 4-H leader and now meager volunteer (you can't yell at me), I want to say a big thank you to the people putting on this week's county party. It's amazing to see how many improvements are managed each year for this community event with so little money. The fairgrounds are spectacular. These people use their imaginations, their own time, donated materials and finances to make a really big show happen.

I love it. I can't wait to see my old buds from back in the day, to hang out with friends and to admire the skills of all the people who've worked all summer to participate in this event.

Thank you, Rhonda Livingston and family, Leigh, Alexia and Fritze.

Thank you, Bob Snyder and family; and Annie Lowrey.

Thank you, fair board members for your ideas, good decisions and volunteerism.

And thank you, 4-H leaders and members, for taking your 4-H responsibilities seriously and learning leadership skills through community service.

And there's one more thing we can say, "How can I help, Bonner County family. How can I help?"
