Bulldogs announce 2007 Hall of Fame nominees
SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint Bulldog Athletic Hall of Fame committee has announced its inductees for the class of 2007. The committee has been working this spring and summer to sift through the dozens of nominees.
According to Hall of Fame member David DeMers the six member committee has chosen 17 former athletes, coaches and boosters to be enshrined this year. The inductees range from the class of 1952 to the class of 2001.
"I believe the committee did a good job reviewing and selecting new members based on our criteria," said DeMers. "As everyone knows it is not a perfect system, but it takes time and commitment and the committee did their job well."
Also, this year six individuals will be honored for the Bulldog Lifetime Achievement Award. This award will be a way to say thanks to those who volunteer behind the scenes to make all of the sporting events successful. DeMers also wanted to express that these individuals are still eligible for entry into the Hall of Fame.
This year's celebration will kick off with the introduction of the new members at half time of the Lake City football game on Friday, Sept. 14. There will be a no-host reception prior to the game at the Elks Lodge from 5-6 p.m. for all of those who wish to meet and renew old friendships. Also, there will be reserved seating at the game for the inductees and their families.
