Next time you see a vet, be sure to say thank you

| December 1, 2007 8:00 PM

I want to thank the veterans for serving our country. They faced the enemy to protect our freedoms. To deal with the hardships and the brutality of war must have been a struggle and they deserve our respect. They faced every type of violent action, gas bombs, you name it. They saw their friends die beside them. Even now, they have to deal with roadside bombs and weapons that can kill miles away. Servicemen and women coming back from Iraq have to be reintroduced into U.S. society so they don't have to worry about the trash on the side of the street exploding.

People should try to do everything they can to help the veterans who sacrifice everything to help other people. This could mean just saying "thank you" any time you see a veteran. So, next time you see a veteran, tell him thank you.
