SSA unveils new logo
The Sandpoint Soccer Association has a new logo, which will grace all new soccer jerseys beginning next year. Recently, a contest was held in hopes that one of their own soccer players would create a new logo for the SSA Youth League.
Melissa Mione submitted the winning entry, seen bolow. Mione plays for the U13 Girls Sandpoint Strikers team and wins a Sport Backpack, new soccer ball, water bottle, t-shirt and a discount on her spring Strikers registration.
The remaining top ten entries came from Anthony Mione, Brianna Mione, Emily Graham, Michael Durfee, Diane Pucci, Rio Pedersen, Amie Anderson, Ryan McNelley, and Delia Boyd. SSA would like to thank all the players who entered the contest.
There were 25 submissions from all ages in the contest, and Mione said when she was designing the logo she just wanted something that showed Sandpoint.
"It's exciting to get kids more excited about the program, more actively involved," said SSA director Ben Twigg. "It's cool to have a new look that came from within the program."
