Do you know how plan will impact your street?

| December 10, 2007 8:00 PM

Residents of Sandpoint, do you know how our city's proposed Comprehensive Plan could potentially affect your neighborhood? Are you willing to see many of Sandpoint's neighborhoods opened to commercial use? Would you like a "commercial neighborhood zone" on your block? How about a "dynamic mixing of land uses" in your neighborhood?

The proposed Comp Plan appears to be one of Sandpoint's best-kept secrets. Community awareness of the process to date has been disappointing; yet everyone's input is vitally important. With that in mind, a grassroots organization, Save Our Sandpoint, has organized to inform citizens about the potential impact to existing neighborhoods posed by the plan currently under consideration.

S.O.S. is sponsoring an informational meeting on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Panhandle Health District Conference Room, 322 Marion in Sandpoint. There will be maps and literature available so residents can see exactly what has been proposed for their particular neighborhoods. If you care about Sandpoint's neighborhoods, please plan to attend. Then you can decide for yourself whether or not this is what you'd like for our city. For further information, contact me at 263-5809.
