Visitor trashes city, local laws

| December 15, 2007 8:00 PM

On Saturday, Dec. 8 at approximately 11:15 a.m., I was southbound on Highway 95 when I observed the most blatant act of littering that I've ever seen. I was behind a silver, four-dour BMW with Washington state plates.

My attention was first drawn to the vehicle as we were passing Co-Op as the front-seat passenger threw out a small wrapper. Not too big of a deal but it's still littering.

After crossing Church Street, the passenger threw out a large bag of trash that immediately scattered across the road.

One would hope that visitors to our state and town would have a little more regard for our laws and regulations. I'd be willing to place a small wager that this same vehicle exceeded the speed limit as it continued southbound.
