Vikings upset Bulldogs in IEL play

COEUR d'ALENE — Andrew Prohaska tallied 13 points and five steals, but the Coeur d'Alene Vikings used a balanced attack to upend the Bulldogs in Inland Empire League play on Monday night.

"We were balanced in scoring and in rebounding," Viks assistant coach Jeremy Voeller said. "Sandpoint's shooting suffered and we outrebounded them as well."

The Bulldogs shot 31 percent from the floor compared to 51 percent for Cd'A, and the Viks outrebounded Sandpoint 40-28.

Coeur d'Alene (6-0, 2-0) had six guys with more than seven points, and Connor Williams led with six rebounds, while five other Viks notched five each.

Senior Ryan Armbruster scored a team-high eight points for Sandpoint (2-4, 0-1), and Spencer Swerin and Talis Siegel each added six in the loss.

Sandpoint gets a two week break before they host Moses Lake on Dec. 29
