Alta Louise Leech, 95

| December 19, 2007 8:00 PM

Alta Louise Leech, 95, passed peacefully away on Dec. 11, 2007, in Sandpoint, Idaho where she had lived for many years. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Alta was born in Redlands, Calif., but spent most of her life in Portland, Ore. She married George in Portland and they raised their family in that area.

Family, friends, gardening and fishing were among her interests as well as love for her pets.

She is survived by her daughter Sally, grandsons, Brent and Gretchen, and Dale and Corinna and her great-grandchildren, Ben, Jessica, Danielle and Laura.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Pansy , husband George and a son Fred.

Her quick smile and ready laugh endeared her to many, and around town she was known as the "Ladybug Grandma." One of her favorite treats was dark chocolate, which she continued to enjoy right up to the time of her death.

Louise would love if we would "do something special for someone, make someone smile each day, Don't waste time looking back and regretting. Only look forward each day and say "No matter what happens tomorrow, it doesn't matter because I am happy now!"

There will be a birthday party in celebration of her life at the Old Church in Hope on March 1, 2008.
