Tenuto nets 15 as Bulldogs fall to Bellevue

CHENEY, Wash. — Alissa Tenuto scored a game-high 15 points, and Brittany Oakley added 11, but a cold-shooting first quarter proved too much to overcome as Sandpoint lost 55-45 to Bellevue, Wash., in the opener of the Cheney Tournament on Friday.

Oakley added four assists and nailed two 3-pointers, Tenuto was 5-5 from the line, and Koko James added nine rebounds to pace the Bulldogs (3-7), who were outscored 13-2 in a tough first quarter.

"The first quarter did us in with cold shooting," said Sandpoint coach Jim Alsager. "We had some nice attempts, just didn't get it done. We clamped down and got back to within five late, but they hit a couple threes and polished us off."

Sandpoint plays the loser of Cheney and Foster today at 4 p.m. in Cheney.
