Alene (Burnett) Foster, 69, passed away in Vancouver, Wash., on Dec. 24, 2007.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31 in the Evergreen Memorial Chapel, Vancouver, Wash.

Committal services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Dec. 3, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Alene was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on April 28, 1938, the daughter of Art and Myrtle Burnett. She moved to the Oden area of Sandpoint in 1943. She attended the Oden School, the Hope School and graduated from Sandpoint High School n 1957.

She married Duane Jones of Westmond, Idaho; they had four children and later divorced. She moved to Forest Grove, Ore., and married John Foster and they had a set of twins. She enjoyed playing the piano, listening to piano music, and doing her crafts.

She is survived by two sons and four daughters: Dean (Debbie) Jones of Redmond, Ore.; Preston (Liz) Foster of San Francisco, Calif.; Anita (Steve) McCarty of Vancouver, Wash.; Lorna (Mark) Murray of Cottonwood, Ariz.; Donna (Rick) Lewis of Vancouver, Wash.; Polly (Ken) Vilhauer of Vancouver, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Also surviving are: Her mother Myrtle Burnett of Sandpoint, Idaho; a sister Delores (Clint) Campbell of Sandpoint; five brothers Don (Janice) Burnett of Banks, Ore.; Mel (Judy) Burnett of Libby, Mont.; Lyle (Laurie) Burnett of Spokane, Wash.; Lee (Allison) Burnett of Sandpoint; and Herb (Kim) Burnett of Heber, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her father, Art, and a brother Kenneth.
