Urgent response needed to combat global warming

| February 3, 2007 8:00 PM

The scientific community has unanimously presented a mandate on harnessing global warming. Today's evening news reported that the United States Government would be against mandatory regulations yet added that we should all be encouraged to "do our part."

Wouldn't a mandatory implementation of changes in our use of fuels bespeak of a concern for our planet? Why wasn't our auto industry preparing for this long ago? This suggests that the dire situation we are facing is met with less than an the urgent response needed on all levels.

What is our government's part?
