Cats drop Tigers in district opener
RATHDRUM — Megan Hess tallied 13 points, eight rebounds and five steals in one of her best games of the year, leading a balanced scoring attack for Clark Fork as they downed Mullan 57-34 in the 1A district opener Monday night at Lakeland High School.
"She settled down and took good shots tonight," said Cats' coach Dexter Vogel, who only played his starters for one half.
Shaina Gustafson had 16 points and seven steals and Bailey Hewitt added 13 points and nine boards as the Cats built an early lead and kept the hammer down, holding the Tigers' offense to single digits in three quarters.
Mullan junior Fawn Story had a game-high 17 points.Clark Fork will face league-champion Kootenai Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Lakeland High School in the second round of the double elimination tournament.
