Red-hot Cats win seventh game in a row
CLARK FORK — Jared Broggi posted his third consecutive triple double, leading red-hot Clark Fork past Kootenai for their seventh consecutive North Star League win Tuesday night in Clark Fork.
Broggi had 20 points and 12 reboudns, and point guard Mike Martin added 16 points and six assists for the Cats (12-7, 8-1), who can now do no worse that tie for the regular season league title.
"Martin really controls the offense," said Cats' coach Brian Powell. "He's a 6-foot-1 point guard that can get in there and score."
Ethan Patzer had nine, and Anthony Cranford eight to pace the Warriors (9-6, 5-4), who dug an early hole by scoring only two first quarter points.
"We pressed them and they had trouble with it early," said Powell. "In the third quarter, they figured it out and started beating us."
Drew Wilkinson added nine points for the balanced Cats, who have five different players capable of leading the team in scoring on any given night. They're also balanced inside and out, play disciplined man-to-man defense, and seem to be peaking as districts loom.
Clark Fork hosts Lakeside on Thursday, where a win would give them the outright league title.
