Oh, the folly of all the road problems

| February 21, 2007 8:00 PM

Regarding Lawrence Fury's "Eastpoint" letter (Feb. 20, Daily Bee):

Methinks Mr. Fury's crystal ball is a little fuzzy. So is mine, but I am going out to the year 2100. Let's see what I see:

There is a six-lane freeway connecting Spokane, Boise, Salt Lake City, Missoula, Mont., and other intermountain points with Canada. This freeway will be going along the railroad location on the west side of Sandpoint.

There will be a three-lane frontage road along the east side of Sandpoint, built on the Sand Creek peninsula.

So, I see interchanges up the ying yang, six lanes on the west side, three lanes on the east side, a tunnel up the middle and the Dover Bridge still in use.

I won't even touch the global warming and rising waters thing.

Oh, the folly of it all.
