Anthon H. Edwards, 94, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center, 602 Schweitzer Cutoff Rd, Sandpoint, Idaho. Interment will follow at Pack River Cemetery.

Anthon was born on Oct. 22, 1912 in Thayne, Lincoln County, Wyoming, the son of Leroy and Ingar Naomi Fredrikke (Hokanson) Edwards. He graduated from Star Valley High School, Afton, Wyoming.

He worked in that area on farms, at the local fish hatchery and became a meat cutter in Jackson Hole. He moved to Sandpoint in 1949. He retired from working on the Boiler at Pack River Lumber Company in Dover, Id.

In the early fall of 1939, he met his eternal Companion, Ruth Lillian Edwards (deceased 2001), at Bear Lake County Fair (Montpelier), Id. They were married on March 21, 1940 in the Logan Temple in Logan, Utah and celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 2001 and now they are enjoying there 66th together once again.

Anthon and Ruth were blessed with ten children.

He is survived by seven children, Carl Edwards of Martinez, Calif., Roger Edwards of Salt Lake City, Utah, Neal Edwards, Linda Edwards, Ronald Edwards of Sandpoint, Barbara (Edwards) O'Neil of Quitman, Miss., and Robert Edwards of Sandpoint; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, his wife Eldred H. Edwards, and three sons; Doyle Edwards, Leroy, Jr. Edwards, Sandpoint, and Larry Edwards, Colorado Springs, Colo.
