Lillian Alidia Hoskins, 96, passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
A private burial service will be held at Clark Fork Cemetery in Clark Fork, Idaho. Memorial services will be held later.
Lillian (Ness) was born on Dec. 28, 1909, in Clearbrook, Minn. She married her husband Walter Leroy Hoskins on Dec. 29, 1931.
Walter and Lillian owned and operated the Hoskins Family dairy farm near Strandquist, Minn., until they moved to Dickinson, N.D., in 1955 and then on to Clark Fork, Idaho, in 1956. There she worked for the U.S. Forest Service and then the Clark Fork school system as a janitor for many years.
Walter and Lillian celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1981. Lillian loved painting in oils and watercolors and has given many of her paintings to family and friends. Lillian loved spending time with her family. For many years, Lillian was an active member of the Clark Fork Lutheran Church and the local grange.
Lillian was one of 14 siblings. Their father was born in Oslo, Norway, and their mother was born in Wisconsin. Several of Lillian's siblings lived to be more than 100 years old. Family members proceeding in her death were her parents Carl and Margot Ness; husband Walter Hoskins; sons James and Gordon Hoskins; grandson Kevin Hoskins; granddaughters Colleen Hubbard and Connie Colbert; great-grandson Daniel Pringle, three brothers and 8 sisters.
Lillian leaves behind her children Joanne and Bob Welch of Minneapolis, Minn., Charlotte and Russell Colbert of Pablo, Mont., Bob and Freda Hoskins of Clark Fork, Idaho, and her daughter-in-law Nora Hoskins of Clark Fork. Also surviving are Lillian's numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and her sisters Gerda Wichterman of Spokane, Wash., and Dora Lovejoy of Roseau, Minn.
