Eleanore Rooks, 82

Eleanore Violet Rooks passed away Dec. 2, 2006, in Marysville, Wash. at the age of 82.

Eleanore was born in Ballard, Wash. where she attended school and later married the love of her life, Dave Rooks.

Dave worked as an auto mechanic while Eleanore worked as a secretary at Boeing in the Seattle area. In the early '70s, they moved to Spirit Lake, where Dave opened Rook's Auto Repair. Eleanore went to work at the Coeur d'Alene Senior Center under Sadie Brooten. She worked her way up, and at her retirement she was director of the Senior Programs in North Idaho.

A remarkable woman of unbelievable kindness, caring and thoughtfulness, she will be missed by hundreds of people whose lives she touched. Her honesty, integrity and humor were truly one of a kind.

She is survived by her daughter, Eileen Rooks; grandson Jerry Bracey, and great-granddaughter Kaylee of Everett, Wash.; granddaughter Ronell Bracey of Spokane; and special friends Scott Hancock and Toni Wartenweiler of Hope, Bobbi Hendrickson of Dalton Gardens, and Bonnie Tucker of Hayden Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dave; son Bill; and an infant son. Her loving deeds will live on.
