CLARK FORK — Rayna Allen scored a game-high 26 points and her pressure defense led to six steals with points in transition as Clark Fork beat Lakeside 58-51 in North Star League action in Clark Fork Tuesday night.

Bailey Hewitt posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards, and Shaina Gustafson stuffed the stat sheet with six points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals as the Cats (5-11, 2-4) won a hard-fought league game.

"Our hustle, we played very aggressive," said Cats' coach Dexter Vogel of the key to victory. "We had to adjust to their defense and take away their 3-pointer. Megan Hess was all over the place under the bucket."

Rian Miller led the Knights (7-9, 3-3) with 13 points, and Ruth Brunelle had a solid all-around game with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists as Lakeside had success when they got the ball on the blocks.

The two NSL teams split their season series and figure to meet again while battling for a state berth.

Clark Fork plays at NSL power Kootenai next Thursday.
