David K. Potter

David K. Potter passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, in Boise, Idaho.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. at First Church of God, 221. S. Division, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Pastor Jon Pomeroy will officiate.

David was born on March 20, 1951, to Jewell and Gertrude (Reed) Potter in St. Louis, Mo. He spent his early years in St. Louis, with many years spent at Arcadia Valley Bible Camp, about 75 miles south of St. Louis, and also in North Idaho at his grandparents farm in Sagle, Idaho.

In 1967, he moved with his family to Grand Rapids, Mich., during his high school years. He continued living in Michigan until about 1982, when he moved with his family to North Idaho.

David was a very hard working man all his life. He had some hard times in life, but truly tried to work through his problems. David knew the Lord and was continuing on his spiritual growth and journey.

As years went on, this became one of the most important aspects of his life. He was known for helping people in need. David met his loving wife Kathy in Boise where they married and made their life together. He worked for many years at Boise Towne Square Mall as a maintenance man. He was a member of Word of Life Home Fellowship in Boise.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Boise; two daughters, Lori (Keith) Marter of Grand Haven, Mich., and Kelly King of Muskegon, Mich.; five grandchildren, Nichole, Marcy and Justin Marter of Grand Haven, Mich., and Aaron and Emily King of Muskegon, Mich.; his mother, Gertrude (Tom) Brown of Sagle; his stepmother, Kathy Potter of Farmington, Mo.; his sisters, Marietta (Don) Bone of Fredericktown, Mo., and Pamela (Steve) Fox of Ponderay; a brother, Mark Potter of Sagle; his uncles, John K. Reed of Sagle and Lloyd Boyle of Laclede, Idaho; plus many cousins, nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jewell Potter; a brother, Steven Potter; grandparents, Kenneth and Nina Reed and Joseph and Opal Diedrich; an uncle, Charles Reed; and an aunt, Josephine Boyle.
