Bulldogs drop IEL twin-bill to Lewiston

| January 25, 2007 8:00 PM

LEWISTON — Another slow opening quarter doomed the Bulldog girls as they scored only two points in the first quarter and fell to host Lewiston 55-32 in IEL action Thursday night.

"Another poor opening quarter," said coach Jim Alsager on his team's propensity to dig themselves a hole, noting they only took five shots in the first quarter. "We're playing good defense, just not taking care of the ball. We had an outstanding second quarter against the same team. We got it going, we've just been slow starters."

Alissa Tenuto led the Bulldogs (2-18, 0-12) with seven points and eight rebounds, and Kelsey Windju added four points and three assists as the team wrapped up its regular season.

Sandpoint plays in the 4A North district tournament next week.
