Wampus Cats claim win over Kootenai

HARRISON FLATS — Chris Jeffres and Tim McMahon scored 14 points each in lifting the Wampus Cats to a North Star league win over the Warriors.

Anthony Cranford led Kootenai with 15 points, and Ethan Patzer added 12 to go along with six rebounds.

"We just didn't come out shooting very well (2 of 11 in the first period)," Kootenai coach Mike LaFountaine said. "But we fought back and got within three points with 1:22 to go."

Clark Fork (7-6, 3-1) hit 10 of 14 free throws down the stretch, with McMahon hitting all eight of his charity shots.

Kootenai (6-4, 3-2) hosts St. Maries on Tuesday.
