Bulldogs fall to Moscow at districts

MOSCOW — Alissa Tenuto had 14 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs fell to Moscow in the opening round of the 4A North district tournament in Moscow Tuesday night.

"It was our best game of the year," said coach Jim Alsager, whose team broke out of their first quarter malaise of late with 13 points. "I was proud of the way they approached the game. We had good team intensity right from the start."

Brittany Oakley shook off an injury to post 13 points, four assists and two steals as the Bulldogs got within two points in the final minutes.

Sandpoint (2-20) will play the loser of Thursday's game between Moscow and Lakeland Saturday night at 6 p.m. in Moscow in the double elimination tournament.

WALLACE — Senior Josh Anderson had his best game of the year, scoring 17 points to lead Clark Fork to a 69-53 North Star League road win over Wallace on Tuesday night.

After going into the half tied 30-30, the Cats found their offensive rhythm and outscored the Miners 39-23 in the second half to put the game away.

Wallace (10-7, 5-3), which was without leading scorer Nick Arthun, was led in scoring in the contest by junior post Darrick Holmquist with 17 points, followed by Jared Bilaski with 13 points.

Clark Fork (8-6, 4-1) also got 16 points from Cameron Jeffres and 13 from Thomas McMahon.

The Cats host Kootenai next Tuesday.
