Dad's wisdom provides insightful advice

| January 30, 2007 8:00 PM

In this week's article, I thought I would share with you some pearls of wisdom that my Dad shared with me as a child growing up. I hope you find them insightful and maybe, beneficial.

Dad's thoughts

1. You may have a pocket full of money; it's worth nothing but your word is who you are.

2. Never argue with stupid.

3. Pay yourself first; put away for a rainy day because that day will come.

4. Discretion is the better part of valor.

5. You fail only when you quit.

6. Always do your best in whatever you do because that's how you're judged by others.

7. Don't drive in where you can't back out immediately.

8. God gave us two ends. Your success will determine which ends you use the most.

9. Don't let the jerks grind you down.

10. Going uphill is always a struggle but going downhill is always crushing.

11. Honesty is the best policy because the truth will always set you free.

12. Ten minutes of sexual pleasure will cost you 21 years of payments.
