Margaret 'Raye' Mead Scott

Margaret "Raye" Mead Scott, of Brier, Wash., passed away on Jan. 25, 2007, at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, Wash., at the age of 67.

She was born in Clark Fork, Idaho, on Nov. 1, 1939, (along with her twin sister Faye Mead Dyson) to Verna (Anderson) and Jesse J. Mead. The Mead family was one of the pioneer families that settled in Clark Fork in the mid-1800s. Raye lived in the Brier area for more than 40 years.

Raye put up a courageous battle with cancer these last five years. It was difficult for her to leave her loved ones. Raye was a very special person to all members of her family. She was always there with her generosity to help any member with a crisis or a need.

She married John Scott on Feb. 2, 1962, who preceded her in death April 14, 1992. She is survived by her three children, Robyn Scott of Lynwood, Wash., Danny Scott of Brier, Wash., David Scott of Brier, Wash.; her sister Faye Dyson and brother-in-law, Bill Dyson of Bothell, Wash.; sister Pat Cook of Chico, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at noon on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at the Abbey View Cemetery, 3600 Alaska Rd., Brier Wash., 98036, (425) 483-0555 or (800) 755-1350.

In lieu of flowers donors may make a donation to Evergreen Hospice, Kirkland, Wash., or the charity of their choice.
