BCATT is working on area transporation plan
Mr. Glickenhaus makes an excellent point about the traffic flow in and around the greater urban area. Working through the Bonner County Area Transportation Team and with a $250,000 grant from the state, a plan was implemented. For the last year the county, cities of Dover, Kootenai, Ponderay and Sandpoint and the Independent Highway District have been working with David Evans Associates developing the Urban Area Transportation Plan.
We are in the final stages of formalizing this plan and it will be presented to the public at an open house on July 25. The open house, at a location yet to be determined, will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Here you can see the suggestions to mitigate traffic situations now and those projected in the future. I urge everyone to mark the date and plan to attend, see for your self the suggested solutions.
