Bugsy's Place features diverse menu

CLARK FORK — A Sandpoint trio has opened Bugsy's Place at 308 E. Fourth Ave.

Jerry Bonagofski, Scott Gregory and Carlene Moresi are operating the full-service restaurant at the former location of The Grits, which they said closed about one year ago.

Bugsy's Place offers Chicago-style food — "a melting pot" of Greek, Italian and Irish dishes, Bonagofski said. Specialties include gyros and baklava.

"We added barbecue with Scott," said Bonagofski.

Gregory, who said he has competed in barbecue cook-offs in the Southwest, makes things like pulled pork, beef and more.

Bonagofski has been in the restaurant business for 35 years. For seven years, he ran a dining room for the U.S. Air Force. He also worked for It's Greek to Me in Washington state.

Bugsy's Place is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, and can be reached at 266-1702.
