Another summer ruined by lake's poisoning
Another summer ruined by the poisoning of our lake. They tell me that the chemicals won't harm me, that after five days I can start watering my yard again, and drinking the water.
They display signs at the City Beach, informing me that this beach is an herbicide free swimming zone. It is hard for me to see the other sign, the sign that cautions me that the water is being treated for Eurasian milfoil, with Sonar, and Renovate, yet it only sits 50 years away from the City Beach sign. I complained last year because I had gone swimming in an area that had been treated with Renovate, and gotten sick. They said that it must have been me, that it wasn't the chemicals, yet that same night all the kids who went swimming with me were throwing up, and my niece, miscarried. So, then they assign a task force, to listen to everyone's side of the story. The task force is there to speak for me, and protect me, yet here we are again, dumping chemicals in the water. I feel apathy set in. I have spoken my words to use alternative methods, but they fall on deaf ears. "It's too expensive," they say, yet they have enough money to treat the water for the next six years,
Why do I even sit here writing this letter? It doesn't really matter; they will go ahead and deceive the public, hiding information, all because they don't want to set off fear in the public's eye. But I don't want their protection, I don't want their lies, and I don't want their chemicals. Is there anyone else that feels the same? If so please call me. Maybe we can help them, to stop this insanity. Contact Rose Macy @ 208-263-0493 or roseintentions@yahoo.com
